In 2005 programme of ringing common gulls (Larus canus) with plastic rings with individual alphanumeric code was begun in Poland. At the moment all birds in this project are ringed with red plastics with four letters, beginning with a letter 'T'. In the first stage of the project birds are ringed in the Northern Poland - on the area of the Gulf of Gdańsk and Western Pomeranian Province.
